What is WIN-WIN Mindset?  

Win-Win Mindset is part of our Thrive with Change Betterment Series.

 

Win-win Mindset is all about improving your teams approach to working with others, particularly through stressful situations to cultivate trust and better outcomes for all involved.

Once we have a responsible mindset, we can reframe our approach to challenges and opportunities with others, from WIN-LOSE (i.e. positions, personal success and struggling against others) to WIN-WIN (i.e. shared interests, collective success and struggling with others).

A WIN-WIN mindset helps us find new and better solutions to common challenges and also future-proofs our strategies as win-win solutions are more likely to be embraced by all parties.

Developing a WIN-WIN mindset can be mastered through proven strategies to build trust, empathy and identifying shared interests and will assist in influencing and enrolling others in your ideas and getting to alignment faster.

Ultimately, WIN-WIN is about consideration and courage. Reflect on a project where you need to work with others to get to a shared result. Ask yourself:

CONSIDERATION:

  • Am I concerned with the big picture/long-term?
  • Am I considering on the needs of my counterpart?
  • Do I need to drive consideration in my counterpart?

COURAGE:

  • Am I standing by what I believe in?
  • Am I advocating for myself/my needs in this process?
  • Does my counterpart feel safe/confident to voice their needs or concerns?
